[Week 2, Saturday: Ashikawa]

[it had been a long and emotionally exhausting day]

[Mitsuru doesn't attend the campfire post-trial party immediately. not that she was angry or upset at anyone, but she needed some time to clear her head, to allow herself to focus on the task at hand. it was only week two, out of. . . what, a promised eight weeks? would every single week after this be just as harrowing and daunting?]

[she walks, more towards the lodge than anything else, allowing her feet to guide her and her mind to wander. she looks lost in thought, but hey. she can be bothered!]

[Week 2, Saturday: Ichigo]

[Mitsuru isn't at the post-trial campfire. at least, not for long. she makes an appearance to listen to what Richie had to say about the lake kittens, and then vanishes again to clear her head]

[and it's after the fire has slowly dwindled, after everyone has let the events of the day sink in like rocks in a river, that she seeks out Ichigo. she's bad at comfort, but. . .]

[she knows he's hurting]

Kurosaki.

[her greeting is short and a bit awkward]

Would you care to take a walk with me this evening?

[Week 2, Saturday: Lenka]

[she waits until the campfire party is over (one she was mysteriously absent from, if only because she needed a walk to clear her head), to find Lenka. the only comfort she could have offered after Talcott's execution was quiet company. she isn't sure she can do much better now, but. . . well]

[she'll try]

[wherever he is, she's approaching]

. . . how are you feeling?

[Week 2, Saturday: Ren]

[there wasn't a single person who wasn't upset after the events of the trial, Mitsuru included. but as emotionally drained as she was, she's acutely aware there are others-- others who were closer to Talcott-- who are probably feeling it in ways she can't even comprehend]

[. . . and, heck. she's no stranger to loss. not after. . . everything that happened at home. and maybe that's why she seeks Ren out, once the campfire party has dwindled, and people have returned to their cabins]

Were you two close?

[him and Talcott, she means. it's a stupid question; she saw that kiss earlier. but she has to break the ice somehow]

[Week 2, Saturday: Kon]

[Kon might not be Ichigo, but Ichigo had suffered a pretty hard blow at that trial, hadn't he? and she had seen how badly Kon had reacted to it. and so. . . she approaches him, sometime after the fire has dwindled and people have gone to bed, just to check in]
